Oldest yarn shop in Houston, with the largest selection of yarns!
Although, I have own this shop for only 11 years (at times, it seems like a lifetime ago, and other times, it seems only yesterday), this shop was Turrentine’s Needleworks. I renamed the shop to Nancy’s Knits, after 2 years of being Turrentine’s. I got this name, because one of friends had put the name in a newsletter, so I decided to keep this name. It seems that I was constantly changing my mind about the name.
I used to be at 5266 Beechnut @ Chimney Rock, after 6 years at that location, I made the move to 5300 N. Braeswood @ Chimney Rock, one traffic light south of the old location.
This shop is 41 yrs old, with 2 owner.
I have “just about” every yarn available. I love novelty/fun yarns,( I have the largest selection in town),and I also have the classics. Whatever you are looking for, I am sure I have it, or something like it. Come by, and visit. All of my yarns are up for adoption; they all need and wants a Good home!
